An interesting Freak Night related Facebook teaser was posted on June 6th from the “FreakNight 2013″ Facebook page: “Got a little secret. Freak Night is going to be plural this year. Freak Nights, that means 2″. The page was created in 2011, and EmeraldCityEDM cannot verify if the page is legitimate or not… could this be another marketing play from USC Events to drum up some hype similar to how they released the fliers for the first (2012) Paradiso Festival before making any official announcements? Time will tell!
Update 6/6/2013: Per US Events in response to EmeraldCityEDM’s press inquiry RE the post in question: ”This is a fake facebook page. Please stay tuned to the proper Freaknight Festival fan page for information about this year’s Freaknight Festival.”

Lineup Changes: Crystal Method: Due to health issues, the Crystal Method will NOT be performing at Paradiso this year. Sadly, no DJ set will occur either. In a statement to EmeraldCityEDM, USC Events stated “Unfortunately The Crystal Method (Live) will be unable to perform at Paradiso this year“.
Scott of the Crystal Method released this statement via Facebook in May 2013: ”I can’t tell you how frustrating it is for me that my health has made us postpone the release of the new record and cancel a summer full of amazing shows. But I am fully intending to be back in the studio in a couple of weeks with Ken, and our agents are starting to work on putting together new shows for the fall“.
Lineup Additions: Swanky Tunes, Flinch, Connor Cruise and Armanni Reign (performing with Andy C) have been added to the lineup, along with local artists Allya, Beauflexx, Diamond Pistols, Darrius, James Renegade, Johnny Monsoon, Just One, Nato Feelz and Sean Majors. Read all about the lineup additions via the press release issued on May 17th.
Find the most up to date lineup at the official Paradiso Festival website lineup page. Set times are expected to be released “soon”, and will be published on the Paradiso Festival website news page.
Tickets: As of the writing of this post, the festival is not sold out.
Camping: The Gorge Campground will open for Paradiso Festival on June 27th at 3pm and remain open through June 30th at Noon. Camping passes are per vehicle, not per person. Premiere and Terrace camping are sold out, but general camping is available to purchase online here. In the past, the Gorge has typically offered camping passes for purchase on site, thus allowing you to save money by not paying the Ticketmaster fee for camping. EmeraldCityEDM inquired of the Gorge Camping administration regarding the price and expected availability of camping passes for purchase on site, and was told that camping passes on site will “be about the same amount as they are if purchased online ahead of time“. Find all camping information on the Paradiso Festival official website camping FAQ page.
Trailer: The official trailer for the 2013 Paradiso Festival has been released! Check it out here:

EmeraldCityEDM Recap of BT at Q Nightclub & Afterhours:
How amazing was BT at Q Nightclub last weekend? First announced by EmeraldCityEDM in March, the night finally arrived where the legend himself treated Seattle to a two part set from approximately 12am to 4am! The night started out quite crowded, but of course a packed house was to be expected with a sold out crowd. While the main dance floor was quite packed, the unique layout of Q Nightclub allowed patrons to explore various bar areas, nooks and crannies; with the front bar allowing you to get within a few feet of the man himself. As the night progressed, the crowds dissipated and it was time for the afterhours encore set. After a fairly quick switch from the original club crowd to the 18+ afterhours crowd, BT was back on and throwing it down – that afterhours set: what a treat!
About the event, Jimmy Geagea of Stardust Events stated: ”BT was one of the best shows we ever had, the crowd was so energetic and intense that you could totally feel this strong connection between them and the artist. BT enjoyed every single bit of it, and the sound system at Q was just a beast that Brian kept talking about and probably still is. I’m pretty excited to have more events at Q and we shall meet there again in August.” Thank you to Jimmy for bringing this unique and intimate event to Seattle!
BT:
About the show, BT had nothing but positive things to say about the venue, crowd and event:
Via Facebook: ”Seattle, This night was one for the books. Hope to be back soon!”
ITV Sessions interview:
The ITV Sessions sat down with BT before the event. Did you know that BT is a major supporter of shark conservation efforts, and admitted to accepting gigs partially because of their proximity to diving locations? Find out via the ITV Sessions interview here:

Check out the latest remix from Seattle local DJ Paul Allard, aka DJ Bassrock! Vocalist Troy D is preparing to release his new mini album DTension, of which lead single The Night was remixed by emerging producerDJ Bassrock. Bassrock has transformed the track into a peak time festival banger, while fully respecting Troy’s vocal mastery. The remix merges the best of both worlds: a great song accompanied by killer beats heavy on the electro house/big room sound.
Vevo and House.net are already on fire. The remix gained huge support over the course of just a few days. Moreover, the remix received about 10.000 Soundcloud plays in only one day!
About the track, House.net stated “This track is undoubtedly as big as they come, and this has everything that big DJs around the world crave. Everything about this mix is so spot on, from the drop to the vocals to the incredible chords in the breakdown. There’s nothing to hate about this one, and this is going to make a lot of people dance very hard. When it comes to free tracks, this right here is the holy grail. So well done.“
