Paradiso Festival update 6/18/2012

Hi EmeraldCityEDM readers, I wanted to clarify that as of 6/18/2012, the Paradiso Festival is NOT sold out.  GA tickets were briefly unavailable on Ticketmaster over the weekend, however per USC Events statement on 6/18/2012:   ”Tickets are not sold out – there is a glitch on Ticketmaster that will be fixed soon.”  See the USC Events statement for yourself via comments on the Facebook Event page.

However, per this press release published 6/5/2012, Paradiso is billed as the “largest Electronic dance music event ever staged in the Pacific Northwest”.  Attendance is expected to exceed 20,000 people.  With the capacity of the Gorge at approximately 23,000 people, Paradiso is EXPECTED to sell out – though it is not sold out as of the writing of this post.

Paradiso Festival update 6/15/2012

Camping:  Camping passes are available for purchase online via LiveNation.  A standard camping pass will cost 64$ total with ticketmaster fees.  The pass is for one vehicle.  Errors have occurred when purchasing camping passes through certain incorrect links, but I was able to purchase a camping pass by following this livenation link. 

 
 

Cirque du Soleil dancers will perform at Paradiso, along with break-dancers, Capoeira performers, aerialists, fire performers, crowd surfing oompa-loompas, and a fire breathing dragon!  More information:

Paradiso Festival update 5/31/2012

Art Installations: 

  • Hydra Aerial Structure:  ”structure looming over the Gorge skyline, lit up with pyro effects and brought to life with dangling aerialists, trapeze artists, and hoopers.  Created by the imaginative minds of Vau De Vire, one of the country’s most acclaimed entertainment troupes.”
  • The ZigRoller:  an “otherworldly ambient piece of art where performers roll around on an immense metal contraption, displaying the beauty of grace and balance.   Paradiso will be the ZigRoller’s first appearance north of San Francisco and will add a dimension of bewilderment to the beautiful backdrop of the Gorge.”
  • Butterfiles In A Bubble:  “giant butterflies floating atop the audience in giant lighted balls”.
  • Stiltwalkers:  Beautiful Vibrant Butterfly, Exotic Erotic Flower, WildChild Praying Mantids, and Amazoid Paradiso Warriors.

On Monday, we announced Chris Lake for Paradiso Festival. Today we are adding bass music heavyweight Figure!  In a matter of years, Figure has risen to center stage of the dubstep world with his unique style and bass-heavy productions. Hailing from a small town in Indiana, he is credited with putting the Midwest on the map for bass music. He is arguably the most influential advocate of drumstep, a genre that combines drum and bass breakdowns with sub-frequency basslines. By crossing genres and incorporating unique sounds influenced by movies and video games, Figure has created a distinctive sound that fires up dance floors all over the country. His tracks regularly sit on the Beatport top 10 and his live performance skills are credited as some of the best in the industry. This is your opportunity to experience the sounds of one of dance music’s most promising rising stars at Paradiso Festival!

The next artist announcement will happen Friday at 3pm pacific. This is one that is guaranteed to sharpen the edges of Paradiso Festival and turn the Gorge into a rage valley- we hope you’re ready to be destroyed with lazers!

 

KNIFE PARTY!   The rumor is true - it was already basically confirmed via the 4/30 announcement, where USC Events stated:  “On Friday we’ll announce someone that will definitely chop up the party” !!!!  Now, with a direct mention to Knife Party’s infamous track “Destroy Them With Lazers”, along with a reference to Knife Patry’s upcoming EP Rage Valley, I think it’s safe to say that we will finally get a bloody Knife Party in Washington!  Stay tuned for the official confirmation this Friday at 3pm.

On Monday we added Above & Beyond to the Paradiso Festival lineup and today we are excited to announce Dillon Francis!  Bursting into the scene with a series of slamming releases including ‘Masta Blasta’ and ‘I.D.G.A.F.O.S’, California native Dillon Francis has established a unique sonic trademark that combines upbeat Moombahton with midrange dubstep, tearing up dance floors across the nation. His unique style has caught the attention of artists including Steve Aoki & Major Lazer and quickly made him one of dance music’s fastest rising stars. Dillon has recently been touring alongside Nero and continues to release a a number of smashers and collaborations we can expect to hear all summer including ‘Falling Up’ and ‘Dill The Noise’. Expect a set unlike any other when Dillon Francis takes over the decks at Paradiso Festival on June 23rd!   The next announcement of artists for Paradiso Festival will happen Friday, April 27th at 3pm pacific!

Wow!!! A lovely discovery on a sunny Seattle monday sure makes coming back to work after the holiday break a little bit easier :)

Song name not yet confirmed, but the leakers are calling it ID or Fuck School.  Collaboration with Avicii confirmed on Romero’s twitter today.
