EmeraldCityEDM Gorge Camping Guide:
Overall:
-Camping is sold per vehicle, each vehicle can include up to six people in GA, Premier and Gold camping areas. Oasis & Glamping are limited to two or four people.
-All levels of camping are car camping, meaning that you set up your tents next to where you park.
-If you are bringing a large van, bus or RV, it is supposed to fit within the designated space for the respective camping level. However, this size limit is rarely enforced.
-If you want to camp next to your friends, you have to drive in together. No exceptions.
-When you arrive, all members of your party must be in the vehicle to receive a camping wristband. GA camping does not have wristbands, but all other levels of camping do. You will need to show a wristband to access other levels of camping than GA. Terrace and Glamping wristbands include access to Premier.
-Showers are included with all camping types other than GA, with showers available to purchase in the Pivot area of GA. Terrace showers do not close and are available at any hour. Showers outside of Terrace are only open during the day and early evening.
-A general store is located at the GA/Premier/Terrace/Glamping entrance and sells ice, alcohol, sunscreen and other hot weather essentials.
-Afterparties, food trucks and vendors are in an area called “The Pivot”, with GA and Premier camping being the closest.
-Quiet hours are officially 2-8am, with generator powered sound systems usually being shut down by security in the 2-4am time range.
-RV trailer dropoffs are available for an additional fee, request a RV dropoff accommodation here.
Standard Camping, or GA:
-15’x25 footprint
-GA camping, often referred to as “District 9” is the loudest and most party-like atmosphere of all of the camping areas. It is the most affordable level of camping.
-GA camping requires a long walk from the campground to the venue, approximately one mile each way. This walk is often referred to as the “Trail of Tears”.
-GA camping cannot physically sell out at the Gorge. The venue utilizes nearby agriculture and cattle fields, so if the regular campground area fills up – overflow camping is expanded into the neighboring fields.
-Pro-tip: Save money and avoid paying for expensive service fees on camping tickets by waiting to purchase GA camping at the campground entrance. Most types of camping other than GA sell out in advance and require a special purchase to enter the area. Cash is not accepted so bring a credit card or a tap to pay phone wallet.
-You may luck out entering GA and not be charged at all! If that happens, we suggest bringing a window marker for your vehicle to “make it blend in” 😉 This has become much less likely to happen due to enhanced security measures implemented after the shooting at Beyond Wonderland PNW in 2023.
Premier Camping:
-18’x35′ footprint
-Includes a shuttle to and from the camping entrance to the venue.
-Premier camping is similar to GA but includes a larger footprint, free showers and the shuttle.
-Premier, Terrace or Glamping wristbands are required to enter the Premier area.
Gold Camping:
-20’x50′ footprint
-Certain events offer power/hookups, with most events offering pumpout and water delivery services by truck for a fee.
-Gold camping is on the venue side of the long path between the general camping area and the venue. It is much closer to the main venue and you do not have to walk a long distance to get to your campsite.
-Gold camping is not near the main afterparty area, and is usually a calm and quiet area to camp.
-In our experience we have never needed a wristband to enter the Gold camping area.
Terrace Camping:
-18’x40′ footprint
-Beautiful views of the canyon and lush green grass.
-Terrace camping sites vary in size; spots with the best views often have a smaller footprint. Sites with the best views are located at the very bottom, fill up quickly and are first come, first serve. If you want the best views, arrive early and be prepared to squeeze in.
-Terrace offers air-conditioned restrooms with real flushing toilets, as well as showers available 24/7. If the event is extremely hot, taking a cold shower every hour can be a lifesaver!
-Terrace also offers free coffee and donuts each morning at the shuttle stop.
-Terrace shuttles are the best and most convenient of all camping shuttle options. An air conditioned bus or van takes you between the top of the Terrace area and a special designated entrance. You do NOT use the same shuttle stop as Premier, Terrace has its own shuttle and pickup/drop-off spot by the ADA entrance of the venue.
-The Terrace shuttle is the option that offers the least amount of required walking, however it can be a bit of a walk from the shuttle pickup and your campsite if you are further down the hill. If you are concerned with mobility, camp as soon as you enter the Terrace area and stay up high, there is a large square grassy field right by the entrance that is right next to the shuttle pickup.
-Overflow parking is allowed for one extra vehicle per Terrace camping pass, for an additional fee (typically 100-200$). You can have up to six people in your Terrace site in total. Overflow parking is not guaranteed, and both vehicles must enter together with all people present at the time of check-in.
-A designated exit is reserved for Terrace and Glamping on the morning after the last night of the event.
Oasis Camping:
-Oasis camping includes a variety of pre-set tent options with beds for two or four people, and include a low voltage power source, linens, pillows, towels and a table. More expensive options include air-conditioned tents.
-Air conditioned restrooms, a lounge, coffee and tea, and showers are provided.
-Oasis camping wristbands do not include access to Premier or Terrace areas.
-Overflow parking is available for a 2nd vehicle for an additional fee.
-Oasis is located on the venue side near Gold camping.
Glamping:
-Glamping is in the Terrace area and includes access to all Terrace amenities including the Terrace shuttle.
-Glamping (and Terrace) camping wristbands include access to Premier camping.
-Glamping cabin style tents are restricted to two people and one car. Overflow parking for Glamping may be available upon request for an additional fee, but is not guaranteed.
-A designated exit is reserved for Terrace and Glamping on the morning after the last night of the event.
Off-site Camping Options:
-There are alternative offsite camping options which include shuttles to & from the venue.
-A popular off-site option is Wild Horse which features spacious grass campsites, real toilets and a quieter experience. Wild Horse offers overflow parking for extra vehicles, cabin rentals and pre-sent tent glamping packages for certain events.
Sage Creek is a newer addition to the off-site camping options, and includes a restaurant, bar and free outdoor showers. Be sure to check their website before making plans as they do not offer camping for every Gorge event. Sage Creek is also available for private rentals if you have an extremely large group, and occasionally offers secure off-site parking for extra vehicles.
-Both Wild Horse and Sage Creek offer a variety of levels of RV camping and shuttles to and from the venue. Be sure to pay good attention to where the off-site shuttle pickup and drop-off spot is, it can be extremely difficult to find in the dark! The off-site shuttle stop is not well lit and has almost no signage. If you ask employees they will almost always direct you to the Gorge official shuttle stop and not the off-site shuttle stop.
