Emanuel Satie & Sam Steele
Studio 4/4 is now on Saturday! Find us at Monkey Loft on the second Saturday of each month – we can’t wait to see you! Studio 4/4 is thrilled to bring TWO international headliners to Seattle for our September 9th show at Monkey Loft! Hailing from Berlin and Vancouver, respectively, Emanuel Satie and Sam Steele each bring their own unique perspective and style to the art of DJing, and we can’t wait to hear what they have in store.
Emanuel Satie: Emanuel Satie is an award winning producer and DJ based in Berlin, Germany. His music is released on labels such as Cocoon, Crosstown Rebels, Rebirth and many more! It’s fair to say that Berlin’s Emanuel Satie burst onto the scene in impressive style with a slew of releases on marquee labels, including a Beatport number 1 (all genres). This was just the start, though, for the talented DJ / Producer and more success quickly followed with a number 2, the instant classic ‘Come As You Are’, and his Ibiza anthem ‘Don’t Forget To Go Home’. Both are now firmly filed in the ‘iconic tracks’ section of record stores – and in fact Don’t Forget to Go Home was named Miami Music Week Essential New Tune in 2018. He is a regular contributor on heavyweight labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Cocoon and Rebirth and he collaborated with Radio 1 legend Pete Tong on their 2019 summer jam ‘Time For Love’ which has racked up over 2 million plays on Spotify. His DJ sets are just as impressive. Satie expertly balances a journey style of DJing, with the need to keep the floor fully engaged at all times – all this making him a ‘must see’ artist.
Sam Steele: With roots in Vancouver’s queer underground, Sam Steele has become a fixture in Vancouver in recent years having held multiple residencies at major venues across the city and regularly serving up marathon six-hour sets marked by punchy rhythms, rolling basslines, and soulful, euphoric vocals drawn from the classics – a signature sound he calls BIG GAY HOUSE. 2022 was a breakthrough year for Sam that saw him playing nearly 80 shows including debut appearances at Basscoast Music Festival, FVDED Music Festival, and LA Pride. 2023 is shaping up to be another breakthrough year with Sam recently making an electrifying return to Basscoast Music Festival, and his first solo international debut at Yelapa Gathering – the first of many festival debuts on the horizon. With a renewed energy heading into the 2023 season, we can also expect to see Sam adding new music to a catalogue that includes releases on Cruise Music, Westwood Recordings, theBasementDiscos, and Sollors Systems.
