Sam Binga & So Sus
People Music presents Sam Binga & So Sus
Sam Binga (Pineapple Records, Critical Music, Exit Records): Sam Binga is an artist at the meeting of dance music’s most vibrant strains. Since the project’s 2013 debut, the Bristol linchpin has consistently drawn a line between forward-thinking club sounds from around the world while infusing them with a classic UK soundsystem sensibility and a unique personality which can only be described as his. DJ and producer Sam Binga represents (in all senses of the word) the most vital, vibrant strains of dance music culture. At the decks or in the studio, he draws a line from the bump’n’flex of Garage to the intensity of Jungle/D’n’B, from the Afro-Caribbean influences of UK Funky into the percussive energy of Grime and Footwork…while still managing to stamp his personality across every mix and production that bears his name.
So Sus (Vancouver, BC): Vancouver-based, transfemme artist, So Sus has released their music on electronic music’s most notable labels, including Monstercat, Deadbeats, Bitbird, Circus, Subsidia,Alter/Ego, and more. With a signature sound incorporating different elements of leftfield and freeform bass music, So Sus bridges emotive sonic elements with hard-hitting components for a maximal listening and dancing experience. In 2021, So Sus’ debut Voices EP was nominated for Dance Recording of the Year by the Juno Awards in Canada. The sounds of So Sus have been heard on radio stations around the world, including BBC Radio 1, Triple J, and 5FM — So Sus has even joined #BANGUERS with Benzi for a guest mix on Diplo’s Revolution on Sirius XM. So Sus’ production prowess cannot be overstated as they have had their records played by some of the world’s biggest DJs such as Skrillex, Excision, Alison Wonderland, The Chainsmokers, RL Grime, Zeds Dead, Illenium, and more.
