Odesza: The Last Goodbye Finale Ignites Fire at the Gorge!
A small brush fire broke out at the Gorge Ampitheatre during the finale of Odesza’s Last Goodbye Tour on Saturday evening! The brush fire was instigated by professional pyrotechnics during the end the performance, and ignited a small, unoccupied area adjacent to the hill. No structures were burned and the fire did not exceed a quarter-acre per officials. While Odesza was able to perform their regular show’s ending, they were not able to perform a planned encore track The Last Goodbye. Ironically, the fire occurred at the end of “It’s Only”, which includes the lyric “It’s only fire”. What a way to end the tour H&C!
Grant County Sheriffs released the following statement:
SMALL BRUSH FIRE AT THE GORGE: The Incident Commander at The Gorge confirms that there was a small brush fire last night during the Odesza show. Nobody was injured and firefighters put out the fire. The cause was pyrotechnics used during the show. The fire burned a small area adjacent to the concert venue. The remainder of the show was cancelled and concertgoers exited the concert venue.
One edit: the fire was extinguished by Gorge staff manning hoses.
Dancing Astronaut noted:
“It’s Only” VIP was the last song so they didn’t end with “Light Of Day” and “The Last Goodbye”
Odesza released the following statement on 7/8/2024:
An attendee told EmeraldCityEDM:
At first it spread kinda quickly but it was contained within a couple minutes and then fully put out probably within ten minutes. I think they had to evacuate everyone for legal reasons.
Live stream viewers were apparently confused as the stream cut off as soon as the fire broke out. Online users were posting that they were upset about not hearing “The Last Goodbye”, but relaxed after learning what happened.
